Trips

The scenic beauty of Blue River can be experienced and enjoyed on all our trips. Our staff will recommend the best trip based on your abilities and the current water level.

River Levels

Because canoeing rivers tend to be fairly small streams, water levels can change rapidly. These streams tend to run higher and faster from spring to early summer and after substantial rainfall. May to June is usually the best time to experience rapids.

River information is available 24/7 from any touch tone phone by calling 812-365-2705, extension 2.

Additional Info

Half Day Trips

Available throughout the season, these trips take approximately 2-4 hours and are great for beginners or those with small children.

Full Day Trips

Full day and two day trips are available and range from 12 to 14 miles in length. These trips can take 4 to 7 hours, depending on water level and your pace of travel.

Two Day Trips

A variety of two day trips are available most of the season. We recommend spring or early summer for easier paddling due to higher water levels.

All camping on the river must be in designated areas. No alcohol is permitted in the campground and reservations are required.
